Contemporary ink jet printing allows enormous control of product. I traveled to Maryland to sit for days as these tiny print runs were processed, because at the time it was difficult to find archival presses. We adjusted colors endlessly until we arrived at exact replicas of the pastels I had created only for this purpose. My framer of several years (himself an artist) got confused between the originals and the giclees. These are printed on German Etching paper and are guaranteed to be colorfast for several lifetimes.
